About the AANMS Trainee Interest Group
The AANMS Trainee Interest Group (TIG) aims to bring together current all-stage Nuclear Medicine trainees from around Australia and Aotearoa New Zealand to foster a collegial approach to training.
The TIG also aims to engage with medical students and pre-vocational doctors to showcase and promote the specialty of Nuclear Medicine to those in earlier stages of the medical training pipeline.
The TIG Committee hosts a number of initiatives for their members, including:
- Nuclear Medicine Tutorial Series – sessions are presented live, and the recording stored on the AANMS TREC for trainee to view later
- TIG Forum held at the ANZSNM conference each year
- State/Region social catch ups
- Committee meetings where members can raise ideas, concerns or requests
For further information, please contact the AANMS’s Education Officer.
TIG Tutorial Series
The TIG Tutorial Series delivers a range of Nuclear Medicine and industry related topics presented by a Nuclear Medicine Specialist or Industry Lead to the TIG Members. The TIG aims to deliver a tutorial once a month.
Call for Presenters
We invite Fellows and Consultants to volunteer their expertise to facilitate tutorial sessions. These sessions are designed to complement local teaching, provide opportunities for interactive discussion, and support trainee learning across the Nuclear Medicine curriculum. Presenters are provided a “Certificate of Appreciation” and the talk can contribute towards CPD points.
Format and Schedule
-
- Monthly online webinars from February to November
- 45–60 minute session duration, with Q&A
- Topics aligned with core areas of the Nuclear Medicine curriculum or other interesting topics
We will accommodate presenter availability and time zones wherever possible. With presenter approval, sessions may be recorded via Zoom and uploaded to the AANMS trainee portal for later access (cases must be deidentified).
