Associate Professor Aravind Ravi Kumar

Aravind S. Ravi Kumar is a nuclear medicine physician with over 20 years’ consultant experience across major tertiary centres, currently practicing at the Princess Alexandra Hospital, Brisbane with previous appointments at Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital and Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre. His career has spanned and actively engaged with major transformations in nuclear medicine, from SPECT to PET, hybrid imaging, and now theranostics, where Aravind’s current focus lies.

Aravind brings to the AANMS Board an extensive and proven track record in governance, education, and professional standards. His prior leadership roles have included five years of chairing the Joint College Committee for Advanced Training, leading national training and assessment initiatives (including the introduction of theranostics training and the oral assessment task) alongside broad training/education, committee, and departmental contributions.

Aravind’s priorities are to advance equitable access to emerging technologies, support sustainable funding models, and ensure high-quality continuing education and training. Aravind is committed to supporting a strong, forward-looking profession that delivers on continuously improving outcomes for our patients.
